Submissions Manager

As a result, we have engaged with some of the most recognized brands in the world including Coca Cola, MTV, Scion, CosmoGIRL!, Levi's and Nike in developing ground breaking marketing campaigns that simultaneously meet marketers' needs and improve our members' "in-world" experiences.
Position Summary:
The Submissions Manager will be responsible for the day to day activities of the submissions group. S/he will manage a small team of submissions representatives both internal to the company and a small off-shore team. In addition to team management, the successful candidate will be responsible the technical maintenance and upkeep of SORD, the technology responsible for the in-flow of non-Makena developer items in There.com, Virtual MTV and other Makena virtual worlds.
Responsibilities:
Manage a small team of representatives including hiring, workload management, training and mentoring.
Develop and maintain metrics and report key findings to executive staff and other internal organizations
Work with engineering and operations staff to maintain SORD - a proprietary tool responsible for inserting data objects into Makena's virtual worlds
Develop and maintain policies for external development
Work with Producers to insure the timely introduction of content for strategic partners.
Insure that staff maintains service levels and that we maintain high levels of customer service both for external customers and partners.
Work with Community Group on Product Submissions guidelines and policies, to ensure that content approvals remain consistent with community standards.
Represent the Product Submissions team in in-world events, meetings and discussions.
Work with operations and engineering staff to ensure that the Submissions Processing System continues to operate correctly and smoothly.
Requirements:
B.A. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Exceptional understanding of database architecture, scripting languages, Linux, and Perl scripting.
Strong analytical skills and exceptional ability to troubleshoot and develop creative solutions in a high-pressure environment
Proven management skills
Excellent communication skills including ability to effectively work cross-departmentally and with 3rd party partners
Customer service experience in a B2C environment (preferably internet or new-media email "call-center" preferred
